My Wild Date Night

Have you ever been on a date?

I mean a date so fun, that any thought of your fitness program or health goals became forgotten.

I’m talking about a date that you feel so comfortable in, there is no shame in the desert ordered after the three course meal you just had.

I had a date like this last Saturday and it was with one of my favorite little humans in the world. My two year old daughter. It was her first movie date and I had the honor of taking her!

As you can imagine, I didn’t give a second thought to being “healthy”. We shared a big tub of popcorn at the movies and followed it up with a trip to the local pizzeria. We were having such a blast, I barely even noticed that a two year old and I just finished a whole pizza. (I swear she ate half!)

Of course, I did not want the date to stop there. You know that feeling when you’re having too much fun, so you do whatever you can to extend time. Well I had just the trick. Dessert. We went from a cheese covered pizza to a Nuttela covered pizza.

It was Nuttella.

On Pizza…….

I don’t share this story with you to make you hungry, I share it with you because I know that many of you had a weekend like this. It may of been a night out with your spouse, best friend, or even just yourself.

You may have overindulged.

You may have drank too much.

You may have stayed up too late.

But here is the thing you must not do. You must not regret. If all you do is beat yourself up after every bad health decision, you will never be able to see the bigger picture.

You see, the bigger picture is that you woke up this Monday (I’m assuming so, if you’re reading this). Which means that you still have an opportunity to move forward. You have an opportunity to get better and do better.

However, it is very hard to get better if you are stuck in the past. I don’t care if you stayed up until 2 last night eating powdered donuts. You still have an opportunity to move forward, conquer your Monday, and feel great tomorrow!

So, get out of your head. Stop letting guilt slow you down and get back to taking control of your life!

Have a blessed Monday
