Good Morning!

I hope that your Wednesday is off to a good start. If you’re still sleeping…. GET UP 🙂 You can’t accomplish your dreams from the comfort of your bed. Well, with technology nowadays you probably could. But that’s besides the point. The point is you have a dream for your health and it is about damn time we chased it down! Today we will dive into Amy’s story pt 2 and see how a simple mission statement changed her life. You’re going to LOVE this.

When we left off with Amy last Monday(Read Amy’s story pt 1 here) you had some action steps. Those action steps consisted of

  • Creating your health dream (your idea shape both physically and mentally)
  • Making a list of things you can do to make this dream a reality.
  • Find someone who can help you with this dream.

Now this was a lot. So, don’t be discouraged if we did not get all of the action steps completed. It is never too late to go back and get them done! Trust me, it is worth it. Because when you declare what you are set out to accomplish, you have already won half the battle!

Amy’s Story pt 2

“Who are YOU”…… “Amy, you there?”

The question, given by her new coach, had thrown her off. Something about it was so hard to answer, that she sat there in his office silent.

“Let me rephrase it, who are you trying to become? What is fitting into a smaller pants size going to do for you? Who is it going to make you?” The questions came on a string. One by one and at first Amy felt a little offended and angry. She came here to lose weight, not describe her personal life. However, something about her inability to answer the question scared her. It made her realize that she actually had no clue. She was not sure what losing weight would change her into. Amy had zero clue on why it was such a big deal to achieve her dream body and mind.

The coach did not give up. He confidently told Amy to take her time, it’s a hard question, but the answer will come.

Eventually the word “happy” snuck out of Amy’s mouth, followed by a spew of things such as:

  • More confident
  •  Driven
  • Decisive
  • In control

Your Mission Statement

She had never admitted these things out loud. Every year she would just exclaim she needed to lose weight and leave it at that. Now this damn coach had her creating a dream and even worse, admitting why it all even mattered. She knew what she has truly been seeking, she just never had the guts to come out and admit it. To admit, she just simply wanted to be better. Yes, Amy was finally done settling for average.

The coach went on to explain:

Every great accomplishment is accompanied with a mission statement. A declaration for WHY accomplishing the goal is so important. If you think you’re going to do something, such as be above average, lose twenty pounds, and feel great. Something that 80% of America can’t seem to do. Then, you are going to need a mission statement. No, not a cheesy “save the world” mission statement, but one that declares your true why. A statement that will shake you up and keep you moving when you decide that you no longer want to get up early and go to the gym. Or when you give up on logging your food and no longer want to stick to the plan. A mission statement will have the ability to stop you from giving up. It will literally drive your success.

Amy left that office different. She knew it was time to get serious.
