What is Weight-Loss Buttholeitis

Sorry for the mental image… But if you want to know what is keeping you from achieving the weight-loss that you want, then this is important!

We have all heard the saying.
“Excuses are like butt holes, everyone has them and they all stink.”


When it comes to our weight-loss goals, it can be hard to stay on track. Heck, even something as little as drinking enough water can seem like an overburden. Why is this so?

  • There is too much work to go, so it is impossible to get to bed on time (my personal one)
  • You have to cook for family, so you can’t make healthy meals
  • You’re always on the go, there is no time to eat healthy snacks
  • You have a past injury, you can’t afford to aggravate it through exercise
  • You’re getting older, you’re supposed to feel sick, tired, week, etc

These all sound like understandable reasons. They make sense and if you repeat them to a member of your family, a friend, or a neighbor they would most likely agree with you! However, deep down we know the truth. These are just examples of weight-loss excuses.


So How Do We Overcome?



Step #1: Call yourself out
Get out a sheet of paper and bring to mind every excuse in your mind. Next, you will order the excuses from most used, by yourself, to least used.


Step #2: Ask
This is going to be one of the hardest things to do, but if you truly want to kick the excuses to the curb it is necessary. Ask the question (to a close friend/family member), “What excuses do I give most often to not take care of my health?”


Step #3: Create Solutions
Write down two counter arguments for each excuse. When you are in the heat of the moment an excuse sounds like fact. When you are swamped with paper work, the excuse that you are “too busy to take a break and eat” seems honest. So, writing your counter argument, while you are not in the heat of the moment, is essential to having success in breaking your excuses. 

 


It’s time to make the decision. The decision to kick the excuses to the curb and tale control of YOUR health! Go out there and get what YOU deserve!
