Body Fat Loss and What Your Spouse Really Thinks

Have you ever felt alone on your Body Fat loss goals? Do you plan a healthy meal, only to come home to a family that wants pizza?

Do you get excited about your new workout program, but have no one to celebrate your successes with?

It can be hard to create a lifestyle change, because usually the people around us are not doing the same. Can we really blame them though? They are just not at the awesome point in life that you are at. They have not committed to the tough path that you have. However, this does not mean that they can not walk it with you.

You just need to start with WHY

Now what does this mean?

People communicate in three ways.

1. What

This is the most common way. People usually lead with the what. When starting a Fat loss program you may tell your spouse/family WHAT you are doing, WHAT you want to accomplish, and WHAT they can do to help you out.

Unfortunately this comes across as demanding and most importantly, boring. If you are communicating with What first it will be hard to get loving support in your goals.

2. How

You then may go on to explain HOW you are going to achieve the Fat loss. You may tell all about the new diet or exercise program and HOW it works. You will be excited to tell your spouse/family HOW it is the best program out there.

This is a little deeper than WHAT. However, unless your spouse/family has a true interest for nutrition and exercise, it just wont really matter to them. Can you blame them? A few weeks ago you would not have cared either!

3. Why

Sadly, most people never get here. And if they do, they save it for last. The WHY is the most important component in getting unlimited support from your family, friends, and even co-workers. The WHY is deep and it truly matters, to you and them! Your WHY may involve your loss of confidence, your low energy, how you truly feel about your current weight, or about the bad health news you just received from your doctor.

Your WHY will motivate. It will Inspire. Most importantly it will cause the person on the other end of the conversation to truly care.

I challenge you to start your next health conversation with your WHY. It will be hard. You will be tempted to start with the WHAT or the HOW. Stay strong and start with WHY!
